compare_prices

Lists what each registrar charges to register and to renew one domain. It returns the same data as the domain's price page on namebeta.com.

Behaviour

• domain must be a full domain name such as kettlory.com. Prices depend only on the TLD, so the tool does not check availability — call check_availability first.
• Prices are first-year registration and yearly renewal, converted from each registrar's own currency into currency and formatted for display, for example $9.80. They are strings, not numbers.
• renewal_price is null when the registrar does not publish a renewal price.
• promo is present only while a registrar runs a promotion that was recorded in the last 7 days and still matches the current price: old is the regular price, new the promotional one, and discount the percentage off, rounded to a whole number.
• Registrars come in the order namebeta.com lists them, not by price. Sort them yourself to find the cheapest, and weigh the renewal price as well as the first-year price.
• register_url goes through namebeta.com to the registrar's registration page for this domain. Some of these links are affiliate links.
